Ukrainian BJU Bible (UKRBOB)

Overview

The Ukrainian BJU Bible is a complete Bible translation in Ukrainian published in 1996 by Bob Jones University, a private fundamentalist Christian university in Greenville, South Carolina. [1] The translation was financed on a nonprofit basis for the purpose of propagating the gospel in Ukrainian-speaking communities. [1] The copyright terms stipulate that the text may be distributed freely for nonprofit gospel propagation, provided it remains unmodified. [1] Bob Jones University has historically been involved in missionary outreach, and this translation was produced in the context of expanded evangelical engagement in the former Soviet Union following Ukrainian independence in 1991. [2] Ukraine has a long history of Bible translation, including the Kulish-Puliui-Nechui-Levytskyi Bible (1903) and the widely used Ivan Ohienko translation (1962). [2]
