Wolaytta Bible (Latin) (WALSIM)

Overview

The Wolaytta Bible in Latin script was published in 2004 by Kale Heywet Church in partnership with SIM (Serving in Mission). [1] The translation was led by SIM missionaries Dr. Bruce Adams and Betty Adams, who created two writing systems for Wolaytta: an Ethiopic script system in 1973 and a Latin script system in 1995. [1] They worked alongside a team of three Wolaytta translators. [1] The New Testament in Ethiopic characters was published in 1981, followed by a Latin-script NT in 1997, and the complete Bible by 2004. [1] Bible portions in Wolaytta date back to 1934. [2]
