Warao New Testament, 2004 Edition (WBABIV)

Overview

The Warao New Testament was originally completed in 1974 by missionaries Henry and Anne Osborn, who began working with the Warao people of Venezuela in 1954. [1] Trial editions of Mark (1960) and Acts (1962) were published before the full New Testament was printed in an edition of 2,000 copies in 1974. [1] This 2004 edition is a revision of that original translation. Revision work commenced officially in 2000, with BMM missionary Marilyn Pitzer and Bibles International's chief language consultant Dr. Osborn working alongside Warao language helpers including Estaban Morillo. [1] The revised New Testament was dedicated on July 8, 2004 with over 225 attendees from eight Warao communities. [1]
