Vwanji New Testament (WBIWBT)

Overview

The Vwanji New Testament, titled "ULufingo uLupia," was completed and released on November 10, 2020, by the Door43 World Mission Community. [1] The translation was produced as part of the Mbeya Cluster project, a collaborative initiative in southwestern Tanzania in which six neighboring language teams worked together over a period of approximately sixteen years, sharing office space and biblical key terms. [2] Contributors to the Vwanji translation include Cloud Roman, ITTO, Lucas Ndugu, Tiralaleli Ndugu, Julieth Ngogo, and Vwanjimt. [1] The text is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike 4.0 license. [1] Vwanji (also known as Kivwanji) is a Northeast Bantu language spoken by approximately 28,000 people in southwestern Tanzania. [3]
