Yamap (YMPEBL)

Overview

The Yamap Bible portions contain the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke in the Yamap language (ISO 639-3: ymp), an Austronesian language spoken by approximately 3,200 people in Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea [1][2]. Most Yamap people live in villages in their homeland along the Francisco river area, with some clusters of speakers in urban centers [1]. The translation was published in 2025 by SIL Papua New Guinea, which partners with the Bible Translation Association of Papua New Guinea to support Scripture translation across the country's many languages [3]. A digital edition is available through YouVersion [4].
