Eritrea, officially the State of Eritrea, is a country located in the Horn of Africa. The nation has no official language, but Tigrinya, Arabic, and English are widely used for government administration and formal communication. As of 2021, Tigrinya is the most spoken language, with approximately 55% of the population using it as their first language. Other major languages include Tigre, spoken by around 30% of the population, and Saho, Afar, and Bilen, which are spoken by various ethnic minority groups. In addition to these languages, Eritrea is home to several other indigenous languages, reflecting its diverse ethnic landscape.
