The Gospel of Mark in Abbé
This gospel was translated into Abbe by Benoit Dessi and Harry Bernard, two Methodist clergymen. Abbe is spoken by 95,000 people in southern Ivory Coast. It is one of a group of West African tongues known as the Kwa languages, from the root form of the word for ‘people’ which appears in all ofthem.
