Bible in Basic English (1964) (ENGBBE)

Overview

The Bible in Basic English (BBE) is a translation using a vocabulary limited to approximately 1,000 words from C. K. Ogden's Basic English word list, with an additional 50 special Bible words. The New Testament was first published in 1941, and the complete Bible followed in 1949. The translation was prepared under the direction of Professor Samuel Henry Hooke (1874-1968) of the University of London. [1]
