Webster's Revision (ENGWBR)

Overview

Webster's Revision is a complete English Bible published in 1833 by Noah Webster (1758-1843), the American lexicographer best known for his dictionary of the English language. Webster revised the King James Version to update archaic vocabulary, correct grammatical errors, and replace words that had become misleading or indelicate in contemporary usage. [1] The revision altered approximately 150 words throughout the text while maintaining the overall structure and style of the KJV. [1] Webster worked primarily from his own linguistic expertise. [1]
