The Caribbean Hindustani New Testament, titled "Parmeswar ke naawa poestak" (meaning "God's New Book"), was published in 2009 by Wycliffe Bible Translators for the Sarnami-speaking community of Suriname [1]. Caribbean Hindustani, also known as Sarnami Hindustani, is an Indo-Aryan koine language that originated from a mixture of languages spoken by British Indian indentured laborers who arrived in Suriname in the 19th century, primarily Bhojpuri, Awadhi, and Hindustani (Hindi-Urdu) [2]. It is the third most spoken language in Suriname after Dutch and Sranan Tongo [2]. The translation project spanned from 1973 to 1998, with the New Testament first published in 1997 by the International Bible Society; a second edition followed in 2009-2010 under Wycliffe Bible Translators [3]. The translation is available under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivatives 4.0 license [4].
