Adnyamathanha Christmas Story (ADTEBL)

Overview

The Adnyamathanha Christmas Story contains Psalm 23 and Luke 2:6-12 in the Adnyamathanha language, published in 2021 by Bible Society Australia. The translator was Lily Neville of Quorn, South Australia, who grew up speaking Adnyamathanha with her parents and started translation work in the 1950s. [1] She also authored "Adnyamathanha Ngawarla" used in language programs and the children's book and CD "God's Story for the Outback." [1] The Adnyamathanha people's homelands are the northern Flinders Ranges in South Australia; only about 113 speakers were reported in the 2006 census, though many more identify as Adnyamathanha.
