Akan Bible (AKAOCB)

Overview

The Akan Contemporary Bible, titled "Asante Twi Nkwa Asem" ("The Living Word"), is a complete Bible in the Asante Twi dialect of Akan, published by Biblica, Inc. (formerly International Bible Society). The translation took 24 years, beginning in 1996, and was launched on September 11, 2020, in Kumasi, Ghana, in collaboration with the Kumasi Council of Christian Churches. [1] Key translators include Rev. Walter Aboagye Frimpong and Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Boafo. [1] It is a contemporary, easy-to-read translation designed as an alternative to the older "Twere Kronkron" (the 1964 Asante Twi Bible published by the Bible Society of Ghana).
