Amanab Naineri New Testament (AMNNAI)
Overview
The New Testament in the Naineri dialect of the Amanab language of Papua New Guinea, published in 2011 by Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc. under the vernacular title Godna mo Awai mona go. [1] Amanab (ISO 639-3: amn) is spoken by approximately 4,400 people in the Amanab District of Sandaun Province (formerly West Sepik Province) and has three recognized dialects: Eastern, Northern, and Western; the Naineri dialect designation for this translation represents one of those dialect clusters. [2] Amanab belongs to the Waris branch of the Border language family. [4] A separate New Testament was produced for the broader Amanab speech community and published in 2001 by the Bible Society of Papua New Guinea. [3] SIL linguist Andy Minch published an Amanab grammar essentials in 1992, providing foundational linguistic analysis that supported translation work in the language. [4] The translation is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivatives 4.0 license and is available in multiple digital formats through eBible.org. [1]
