Sarangani Blaan New Testament (BPSWPS)
Overview
The Sarangani Blaan New Testament with Old Testament portions, titled I Tnalù Dwata, is a translation into the Sarangani dialect of Blaan, an Austronesian language of the Bilic subgroup spoken in the southwestern portion of Mindanao, Philippines. [1] The Sarangani Blaan (also called Tumanao or Bilaan) are concentrated in Sarangani Province and parts of South Cotabato, Davao del Sur, and neighboring areas. [1] SIL International conducted linguistic documentation of Sarangani Blaan from the 1960s onward; Mary Rhea and Barbara Blackburn worked as SIL translators and linguists on the language, compiling wordlists and a Sarangani Blaan–Koronadal Blaan–English dictionary (1991). [2] [4] The New Testament was published in 1998 by Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc. [3]
