1940 Bulgarian Bible (BULB40)
Overview
The 1940 Bulgarian Bible is a revision of the 1871 Tsarigrad (Constantinople) Bible, the first complete Bulgarian Bible. That earlier translation was produced over more than twelve years by Elias Riggs, Albert Long, and the Bulgarian writer Petko Rachov Slaveykov, adopting the Eastern dialect, and was published in 36,000 copies in June 1871. This Protestant translation, in the line of British and Foreign Bible Society work, formed the basis that was revised in 1940.
