Overview

Scripture in Southern Bobo Madaré, a Mande language of Burkina Faso, progressed from Bible portions (1965) to a New Testament (1981) before this complete Bible was finished in 2004, published by the Bible Society of Burkina Faso (Alliance Biblique du Burkina Faso) under the auspices of the United Bible Societies. [1] The Bobo are a Mande ethnic group centered around Bobo-Dioulasso in southwestern Burkina Faso, and the translation serves the spiritual and literacy needs of the community. [2] The translation contributed to the development of a standardized orthography for Southern Bobo Madaré, supporting broader literacy efforts in the region. [3]
