Chukchi Luke (CHKIBT)

Overview

Chukchi Luke is the Gospel of Luke in Chukchi, a Chukotko-Kamchatkan language spoken in the Chukchi and Koryak Autonomous Areas of the Russian Far East. It was produced by the Institute for Bible Translation (IBT), which published Luke selections in 1995 and the full Gospel of Luke, accompanied by audiocassettes, in 2004; a second, diglot edition of Luke followed in 2017. IBT's wider Chukchi Scripture program also produced John 1:1-17 in 2008, Jonah in 2018, and Gospel Parables in 2021.
