Ashéninka Pajonal New Testament (CJOWBT)

Overview

The Ashéninka Pajonal New Testament was published in 2008 by Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc. [1] Ashéninka Pajonal is an Arawakan language spoken by approximately 12,000 people in the Gran Pajonal, a remote plateau between the Andes and the Ucayali River in central Peru. [2] SIL Peru (ILV) began working in the Gran Pajonal in 1966, collaborating with the Ashéninka Pajonal community and the Ministry of Education on bilingual schooling, teacher training, and literacy materials. [3] The New Testament translation was produced by native translator teams working with SIL linguistic advisors. [3]
