Colorado New Testament (COFWBT)
Overview
The Colorado New Testament, titled "Diosichi Pila," was published in 2012 by Wycliffe Bible Translators with text copyright dating to 1990 and 2012. [1] The Tsachila people, historically called "Colorado" (meaning "the red-colored ones") by the Spanish due to their practice of covering their bodies with red achiote seed dye, are an indigenous group of Ecuador. [2] They speak Tsafiki (meaning "true word"), a Southern Barbacoan language. [3] The Tsachila number approximately 2,600 people organized into eight communities near Santo Domingo, the capital of Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas Province, situated at the base of the Andes about 120 kilometers from the Pacific coast. [2]
