Schlacter 1951 (DEUS51)

Overview

The Schlachter-Bibel is a German translation of the Bible by Franz Eugen Schlachter, translated directly from the Greek and Hebrew text of the Bible and first issued as the pocket-sized Miniaturbibel in 1905. Schlachter was a preacher of the Evangelische Gesellschaft in Bern, Switzerland influenced by the holiness movement. The Geneva Bible Society (Genfer Bibelgesellschaft) oversaw the 1951 revision, described as a light revision that retained Schlachter's original approach.
