Djambarrpuyngu New Testament (DJRBSA)

Overview

This translation was published by the Bible Society in Australia in 2008. Djambarrpuyŋu is one of the Dhuwal varieties within the Yolŋu Matha dialect continuum and is widely used as a lingua franca across north-east Arnhem Land. Dhuwal (also Dual, Duala) is one of the Yolŋu languages spoken by Aboriginal Australians in the Northern Territory, Australia. Although all Yolŋu languages are mutually intelligible to some extent, Dhuwal represents a distinct dialect continuum of eight separate varieties. Dialects of the Dhuwa moiety include Djambarrpuyngu, Djapu, Liyagalawumirr, and Guyamirlili (Gwijamil).
