Kadung (also known as Kadun, Kwang, Kwanga, Kwanka, or Kwanka-Boi-Bijim, ISO 639-3: dkg) is a Benue-Congo language spoken by approximately 21,000 people in Nigeria. The Nigeria Bible Translation Trust (NBTT) is the primary organization responsible for Scripture translation in Kadung. NBTT was established through a partnership with Wycliffe Bible Translators and since 1976 has assumed responsibility for Bible translation among Nigeria's minority language groups, currently running over 107 translation projects across the country. NBTT has produced an audio recording of the Gospel of John in Kadung,. Oral Bible Translation using digital tools such as the Render app has also been part of the effort to bring Scripture to Kadung and other Nigerian minority language communities. The Kadung people are classified as minimally reached by evangelical Christianity, with few evangelical believers but some broader Christian identification. Further translation work is needed to provide the Kadung community with a full New Testament.
