Open English Bible (ENGOEB)

Overview

The Open English Bible (OEB) is a freely redistributable modern English translation. It is a volunteer revision of the Twentieth Century New Testament—a translation produced by some twenty British clergy and laypeople and published between 1898 and 1904—together with a fresh rendering of the Old Testament. A work in progress, it is edited and distributed by Russell Allen, who released the first New Testament edition in August 2010 and dedicated the text to the public domain, making it one of the few modern-English Bibles with no copyright restrictions on derivative use.
