Bible Portions in Far Western Muria (FMUWBT)

Overview

This volume contains Bible portions in Far Western Muria, a South-Central Dravidian language belonging to the Gondi subgroup, spoken by the Muria people in the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh, India [1][2]. The Muria are an indigenous Adivasi scheduled tribe and part of the broader Gond community, residing primarily in the Kondagaon and Narayanpur districts north of the Indravati River [1]. Published by Wycliffe Bible Translators in 2015, the text is rendered in Devanagari script. Far Western Muria is classified as vulnerable by UNESCO's Atlas of the World's Languages in Danger, making this scripture translation an important contribution to both language preservation and access to biblical literature for this community [2]. An audio Bible version has also been produced, with audio copyright held by Hosanna (2022) and Wycliffe India [3].
