Ghanongga Bible (GHNIBM) (GHNIBM)

Overview

The Ghanongga Bible (GHNIBM) is a New Testament adaptation in the Ghanongga language, also known as Kubokota, spoken on the northern half of Ranongga Island in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands. [1] [2] The translation was contributed by Islands Bible Ministries and is copyrighted by The Seed Company, distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike 4.0 license. [1] Ghanongga (also spelled Ganongga or Ganoqa) is an Austronesian language of the North West Solomonic branch, spoken by approximately 2,500 to 3,400 people. [2] [3] The language name "Kubokota" refers to the northeastern quarter of Ranongga, while "Ganoqa" refers to the northwestern quarter; European mispronunciations of "Ganoqa" gave rise to the island's common name "Ranongga."
