The Giziga, North (also called Mi Marva or Guiziga) are a Chadic-speaking people of approximately 67,000 living in the Diamaré division of the Far North Region of Cameroon, particularly in the Tchere and Mogazang massifs and the Dogba plains north and west of Maroua. Christianity has gained a foothold among them — around 59% identify as Christian — but scripture in the Giziga, North language has been scarce. The Word For The World (TWFTW), a Bible translation organisation with projects across Cameroon, Nigeria, Kenya, and other nations, produced an oral Bible translation for Giziga, North speakers. TWFTW pioneered a shift from written to oral translation methods specifically suited to communities with low literacy rates — an approach well-fitted for northern Cameroon. The resulting audio New Testament,'s Bible.is platform, marks a significant step for the Giziga, North community, giving them access to the New Testament in their own Chadic language.
