Ganang (also known as Gashish) is a small language of Plateau State, Nigeria, spoken by approximately 4,800 people concentrated in the Gashish Kuk village area, including Nye and Iny settlements, southeast of Jos. The community is at risk of language shift — men tend to adopt Hausa and English as they grow older, while women and children remain the primary Ganang speakers, raising concerns about the language's long-term vitality. Despite its small size, the Ganang community has a presence of evangelical Christians, and the Graceland Church of Beatitudes undertook the recording of a Ganang audio New Testament.'s Bible.is platform, this recording gives Ganang speakers — especially women and children who are the most fluent — the chance to encounter the Scriptures in their mother tongue. The audio format is particularly important for this community, where literacy in Ganang is limited and Hausa or English are the languages of formal education.
