Golin New Testament (GVFWBT)

Overview

The Golin New Testament, titled "God ka main buku," was first published in 1980 by Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc. [1]. Golin is a tonal Papuan language of the Chimbu-Wahgi branch of the Trans-New Guinea language family, spoken in the Gumine District of Simbu (Chimbu) Province in the central highlands of Papua New Guinea [2]. Its three-tone phonology is marked with acute and grave accents in the Latin orthography. The Golin people, numbering approximately 175,000, are predominantly Christian, and Bible portions in Golin were first produced in 1969-1970 before the complete New Testament was published in 1980 [3]. A web edition followed in 2013. The translation is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivatives 4.0 license and is available in digital formats including mobile apps and online platforms [1].
