Malei-Hote New Testament (HOTWBT)
Overview
The Malei-Hote New Testament, titled "Wapômbêŋ Anêŋ Abô Matheŋ," was published in 2010 by Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc. in partnership with the Male people [1]. Hote (also known as Malei) is a stable Austronesian language spoken by approximately 4,500 people in Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea [2]. Translation work on this New Testament began in 1976 with the assistance of SIL (Summer Institute of Linguistics), and the Male people contributed actively as participants in the translation effort [3]. The copyright is jointly held by Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc. and the Male people, and the translation is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivatives 4.0 license [1].
