Hona Bible (HWOEBL)

Overview

The Hona Bible is a Scripture translation in the Hwana language (also known as Hona, Tuftera, or Fiterya), an Afro-Asiatic (Chadic, Biu-Mandara) language spoken by approximately 32,000 people in Adamawa State, Nigeria, primarily in Gombi LGA with some in Song and Hong LGAs. [1] The translation was published in 2025 by The Seed Company in collaboration with the Language Developers and Bible Translators Association (LDBT). Christian influence arrived in the area in 1923, with 92% of the community now claiming church affiliation. [1]
