Isnag New Testament with Genesis and Exodus (ISDWBT)
Overview
The Isnag New Testament with Genesis and Exodus is a Scripture translation in the Isnag language of the northern Philippines, published in 2005 by Wycliffe Bible Translators. Translation work among the Isnag people began in the 1950s when Wycliffe missionary Dick Roe moved to the village of Dibagat in 1956. [1] The New Testament was first dedicated in 1982, and a revised edition along with Genesis and Exodus was dedicated in 2006. [1] Rudy Barlaan, recognized as the first Filipino Bible translator, joined the project in 1971 and spent over 50 years living and working among the Isnag. [2] Work on the Old Testament continued under Mark Pugyao with Barlaan serving as consultant, culminating in the dedication of the complete Isnag Bible on June 25, 2023. [2]
