The Jwira-Pepesa Audio Scripture is a recorded Bible resource produced by Manna Foundation Ghana for the Jwira-Pepesa community of Ghana's Western Region. Jwira-Pepesa (also known as Gwira and Pepesa-Jwira) is a Niger-Congo language consisting of two mutually intelligible dialects — Jwira and Pepesa — spoken by approximately 18,000 people. The language has a limited written tradition, making audio Scripture a particularly important means of access. GILLBT (Ghana Institute of Linguistics, Literacy and Bible Translation), a Wycliffe Global Alliance partner, has also surveyed the Jwira-Pepesa language area as a candidate for further Bible translation development. The Manna Foundation Ghana audio resource, distributed, brings spoken Scripture to Jwira-Pepesa communities for the first time in their heart language.
