Jinghpaw Hanson Version (KACUBS)

Overview

The Jinghpaw Hanson Version is a full Bible in Jinghpaw, published by the Bible Society of Myanmar in 2009. The translation originates with Ola Hanson (1864–1929), a Swedish-American Baptist missionary sent to the Kachin of Burma by the American Baptist Missionary Union in 1890. Hanson devised a Latin orthography for the language and translated the Scriptures into Jinghpaw, completing the New Testament and, later, the full Bible by 1927. Jinghpaw is spoken by the Kachin Jingpo, the largest group in Kachin State, Myanmar.
