Iwal New Testament (KBMTBL)

Overview

The Iwal New Testament was published in 1984 by Wycliffe Bible Translators and dedicated in Morobe Province in 1985, with a web edition released in 2014. [1] The translation work was supported by linguistic research conducted by Ian Davidson and Doris Davidson of SIL, who produced foundational grammatical studies of the Iwal language in 1976. [2] Iwal (also known as Kaiwa) is an Austronesian language spoken by approximately 1,900 people across nine villages in Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea, and is noted as the most conservative member of its subgroup. [1] The New Testament was distributed by the World Home Bible League (Liga Biblica Mundial del Hogar).
