Kabiyè 1995 (KBPABT)

Overview

The Kabiye 1995 edition is a New Testament translation in the Kabiye language, published by the Bible Society of Togo. Kabiye is one of Togo's two national languages (alongside Ewe) and is spoken by approximately one million people, primarily in northern Togo. [1][2] The earliest known publications in Kabiye appeared in the 1930s, and the orthography was standardized in the early 1980s by the Comite de Langue Nationale Kabiye (now the Academie Kabiye), an organ of the Togolese Ministry of Education. [2] Work on a complete Kabiye Bible has continued, with translation teams supported by the American Bible Society's financial partners. [3]
