Overview
The Jalapa de Diaz Mazatec New Testament (Ehen Ntiana) is a 2013 translation of the New Testament into the Jalapa de Diaz variety of the Mazatec language, published by Liga Biblica Internacional with copyright held by Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc. [1] Jalapa de Diaz Mazatec (also known as Lowland Mazatec or Mazateco del Este Bajo) is spoken in approximately thirteen towns in the Sierra Mazateca of northern Oaxaca, centered around the town of San Felipe Jalapa de Diaz. [2] The language belongs to the Mazatecan branch of the Popolocan subfamily within the Oto-Manguean language family and is notable for its complex tonal system and three-way phonation contrast. [2] The translation is available in digital format through Bible.com and as a mobile app with audio recordings.
