The Mboi audio scripture resource produced by the Right Hand International Foundation (RIF) brings the Word of God to the Mboi people of Nigeria. Mboi, also known as Gena, Mboire, Mboyi, Banga, or Handa, is a language spoken by approximately 43,000 people in Nigeria. [1] Bible portions in the Mboi language were completed in 2024, with the Right Hand International Foundation coordinating the production of audio scripture through the Faith Comes By Hearing platform. Audio scripture is particularly valuable for communities where oral communication is the primary mode of engagement with religious texts, enabling Mboi-speaking Christians to hear and share the Word in their mother tongue. The Mboi people are located in the broader region of northern Nigeria where dozens of minority language communities share a similar need for accessible vernacular scripture.
