Sankaran Maninka Bible Portions (MSCPBT)

Overview

The Sankaran Maninka Bible Portions (Alla la Kitabu Seniman) contain selections from Genesis, Matthew, and John, published in 2015 by Pioneer Bible Translators (Traducteurs Pionniers de la Bible). [1] Sankaran Maninka is a southeastern Manding (Mande) variety spoken by approximately 77,000 people in Guinea; Maninka as a whole is spoken by some 4.6 million people across Guinea, Mali, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Côte d'Ivoire, and is an official language of Guinea. Linguistic research by Pioneer Bible Translators determined that Sankaran Maninka speakers did not have sufficient comprehension of the Maninka of Kankan dialect to use materials developed for that variety, establishing the need for a separate translation in Sankaran Maninka.
