Manam New Testament (MVAPNG)

Overview

The New Testament in Manam, an Austronesian language of the Kairiru–Manam group, was published in 1996 by the PNG Bible Translation Association, completed through that association with SIL/Wycliffe Bible Translators. Bible portions had been available from 1988 before the New Testament's completion, and copyright is held by the Papua New Guinea Bible Translation Association. [1] Linguistic work on Manam was carried out by Blaine Turner, who produced a Manam wordlist in 1980 and a teaching grammar of the language in 1986. [2] The Manam people live on Manam Island and nearby Boesa Island in the Bismarck Sea, as well as at Sepa and Wanami on the adjacent mainland in Madang Province, Papua New Guinea. [1]
