Ndali Bible (New Testament) (NDHWBT)

Overview

The Ndali New Testament (ULwitikano uLupya) was completed in 2020 as part of the Mbeya Cluster Project, a collaborative Bible translation initiative launched by SIL Tanzania around 2004 that brought together translation teams from six neighboring language communities in the Mbeya region [1][4]. The Ndali community had independently formed their own language board years before the cluster project began, reflecting longstanding demand for Scripture in the Ndali language [2]. The translation team included Safari M., Imani M., and Boniface M. as translators, with Pitrosi K. serving as Literacy/Scripture Use coordinator, representing Moravian, MEC, and Baptist churches [2]. Before publication, the New Testament underwent an intensive 15-day read-through with two pastors and twelve local reviewers [1]. Following the New Testament's completion, the Ndali community drafted a plan to manage its own Old Testament translation project [3].
