Guerrero Nahuatl New Testament (NGUWBT)

Overview

The NGUWBT is a New Testament translation in Guerrero Nahuatl, first published in 1987 by Sociedades Bíblicas Unidas (United Bible Societies) under the copyright of Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc. [1][2]. Guerrero Nahuatl (also known as Náhuatl de Guerrero Central or Xalitla Nahuatl) is spoken in western central Mexico, primarily in the state of Guerrero. The translation was produced through the collaborative work of SIL International linguists and local Nahuatl-speaking communities. Later editions were issued in 2009 by Liga Bíblica Internacional and in 2016 by Wycliffe Bible Translators [1]. The text is available in both print and digital formats, with audio recordings accessible through Faith Comes By Hearing and the Wycliffe Bible app [3].

Language and People

Guerrero Nahuatl (ISO 639-3: ngu) is spoken by approximately 125,000 people in Western Central Mexico. [Glottolog: guer1241]
