Overview
This resource is an audio recording of the Nepali Unlocked Literal Bible (ULB) New Testament, produced by Davar Partners International (DPI) in collaboration with Bridge Connectivity Solutions and published in June 2023 [1]. The underlying text was translated by Himalaya Technology Solutions under the unfoldingWord translation methodology, which produces open-licensed Scripture resources intended to serve as gateway texts for subsequent translation into related languages [2]. The text translation was completed in 2019 and published by the Door43 World Missions Community under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, allowing free reproduction and adaptation [3]. Davar Partners International's mission is to create audio Bible resources for oral learners, and the Nepali ULB audio New Testament extends Scripture access to the approximately 17 million Nepali speakers globally, including communities with limited literacy [1]. The Nepali ULB is made available through multiple streaming and download platforms including Nepali Bible Radio, India Bible Radio, and Open.Bible [4]. Nepali is an Indo-Aryan language that serves as the official language of Nepal and is widely spoken in northeastern India, Bhutan, and the Nepali diaspora worldwide [5].
