Nepali New Revised Version — Audio (NPINBS)
Overview
This resource is an audio recording of the Nepali New Revised Version (NNRV), a complete Bible translation published in 1997 by the Nepal Bible Society (NBS) and widely regarded as the most widely used Bible in Nepali-speaking churches [1]. The NNRV was a thorough revision of earlier Nepali translations and has become the standard text for worship, preaching, and personal study across denominational communities in Nepal and the Nepali diaspora [1]. The Nepal Bible Society was founded on 1 November 1975 and was formally registered with the Government of Nepal on 21 March 2007; it is an interconfessional Christian organization authorized to translate, publish, and distribute Bibles throughout Nepal and globally [2]. The distribution of this audio version through the Faith Comes By Hearing platform expands access to Scripture for Nepali-speaking oral learners who may have limited reading proficiency, including communities in remote hill districts and diaspora populations in India, Bhutan, and the Gulf states [3]. Nepali is the official language of Nepal, written in Devanagari script, and belongs to the Indo-Aryan branch of the Indo-European language family [4].
