Giryama 2004 Edition (NYFWBT)
Overview
The Giryama 2004 Edition is the New Testament in the Giryama language, translated by Bible Translation and Literacy (BTL), a Christian organization established in 1981, in partnership with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Translation work in Giryama began in 1989, and the New Testament was dedicated on 18 December 2004. [1] The Giryama (also called Giriama or Agiryama) are the largest of the nine Mijikenda coastal peoples, numbering approximately 751,500 according to the 2009 Kenya census, and they inhabit a large portion of Kilifi County on the Kenyan coast. [1] The complete Giryama Bible was later launched and dedicated on 6 April 2019. [1]
