Mbembe New Testament (NZAWBT)

Overview

The New Testament in Tigon Mbembe (Srakàda Mbɔchù Epokwre), a Jukunoid language, was published in 2018 by CABTAL (Cameroon Association for Bible Translation and Literacy), with Bible portions available from 2001 through 2008. [1] Linguistic groundwork for the translation included the development of an orthography guide by Julius A. Eyoh and Echebi Emmanuel Sandamu. [2] The Tigon Mbembe people live in the North West Region of Cameroon, in Donga-Mantung Division, Ako subdivision, north of Nkambe. [1] The language is also spoken across the border in Taraba State, Nigeria.

Tigon Mbembe (ISO 639-3: nza) is spoken by approximately 60,000 people in Southwestern Cameroon, Enlarged Area. [Glottolog: tigo1236]
