Portuguese Free Bible for All (PORBRB)
Overview
The Portuguese Free Bible for All (Biblia Livre Para Todos) is an open-access complete Bible in Brazilian Portuguese. The text is an updated revision of the 1819 João Ferreira de Almeida translation (Textus Receptus edition), modernizing the spelling, vocabulary, and word order for contemporary readers. [1] The copyright holders are Diego Santos, Mario Sérgio, and Marco Teles, and the translation is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 Brazil. [2] The project is noted as the first Portuguese Bible version made available as an open-source SWORD module, addressing the fact that most Portuguese Bible translations are restricted by copyright. [1] The Bíblia Livre remains a work in progress, with ongoing revisions to improve readability. [2]
