Eastern Slovak Romani New Testament (RMCESR)

Overview

The Eastern Slovak Romani New Testament, with additional portions, renders Scripture into Eastern Slovak Romani, a variety belonging to the larger cluster of dialects designated Carpathian Romani — an Indo-Aryan dialect group of the Romani language spoken across central Europe, with its largest speaker populations in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Roma in Slovakia and the Czech Republic can read and understand the printed text, and the audio is also understood by Roma in parts of Poland, Ukraine, and Romania. Audio of the whole New Testament is available, and books of the Old Testament are being added as the translation of the Old Testament progresses; a full Bible in the Slovak variety followed in 2021.
