Overview

"PATHEN LEKHABU THENG" is a complete Bible translation in the Chongthu variety of the Thadou (Thado Chin) language, copyrighted in 2020 by the Chongthu Bible Translation Team [1]. The translation encompasses all 66 books of the Old and New Testaments along with front matter and an introduction. It is described as a draft that continues to be updated [1]. Thadou (ISO 639-3: tcz) is a Sino-Tibetan language of the Kuki-Chin branch spoken by approximately 313,000 people in the states of Manipur, Assam, and Nagaland in northeast India, as well as in the Chin Hills of Myanmar [2][3]. "Chongthu" refers to a legendary ancestral figure of the Thadou people, and the Chongthu community lives among the Thadou, speaking the Thadou language and identifying as Kuki [3].
