Thai Easy-to-Read Version (THAERV)
Overview
The Thai Easy-to-Read Version (ERV), titled "Phra Khristhatham Khamphi: Chabap An Khaojai Ngai" in Thai, is a full Bible translation in modern Thai published by Bible League International. [1] It is part of the global Easy-to-Read Version series developed by the World Bible Translation Center (WBTC), which was founded in 1973 in Arlington, Texas. [2] The Thai ERV is considered one of the most accessible Thai translations for readers with lower literacy levels, as it avoids the royal language register (rachasap) and uses simple, everyday vocabulary. [3] The WBTC later merged with Bible League International, which now holds the copyright and continues distribution. [2] The translation is available in print, as a free download from Bible League, and through digital platforms including Bible Gateway and the YouVersion Bible App. [1] [4]
