Upper Necaxa Totonac (TKUWBT)

Overview

The Upper Necaxa Totonac New Testament was published in 1999 by Wycliffe Bible Translators. Upper Necaxa Totonac is a Totonacan language of the Sierra Norte region of Puebla, Mexico, spoken by approximately 3,400 people in the villages of Patla, Chicontla, Cacahuatlán, and San Pedro Tlaloantongo in the Necaxa River Valley of northern Puebla State. [1] The Totonac alphabet of Patla and Chicontla was authored by SIL linguists Ella Marie Button and Ruth G. Bishop and published in 1997 by the Instituto Lingüístico de Verano (SIL México). [2]

Upper Necaxa Totonac (ISO 639-3: tku) is spoken by approximately 5,800 people in Western Central Mexico. [Glottolog: uppe1275]
